Hey plant friends,
I’m keeping today short and sweet with an important announcement and also a few of my 2021 learnings / takeaways that I hope will be of value to you too.
To get straight to it, today is the final episode in season 1 of Plant Positive.
I can be back in an instant – ok a week! – if there’s enough demand however right now I’m going to take my own slowly learnt advice and make room for more of the things that bring me the most Fun and Love in my life!
Those were (and are!) my two words of intention and focus for this year. The things I’m committed to prioritising.
As much as I enjoy this little show, the downloads do not warrant the time, energy and money invested and equally I have sooooo much more love for my first podcast Healthification.
So if you’re keen to continue to hang with me (and my amazing guests) each and every week please search Healthification wherever you listen to podcasts as that show is 100% here to stay!
If you can relate to feeling like you need a little more fun, more YOU time, a chance to step off the anxiety inducing, disappointing and dissatisfying hamster wheel that perhaps life has become… (gosh, I’ll turn this back to positive soon!) …then here are my few early 2021 learnings:
One: Consistency is a super power… and yet also you need to learn when to quit something that is not working or is not working enough to warrant the opportunity cost.
I’ve struggled with this in the past. From a past boyfriend. To a previous business. Sometimes true strength and wisdom is knowing when it’s the right time to walk away. It’s not a decision to make in one frustrated or hot headed instant, yet rather a considered weighing up of pro’s, con’s and what stubborn devotion to consistency might mean you’re potentially missing out on both right now and in the future.
For me it also a matter of putting aside Ego and acknowledging that very often stopping something is not failure and rather might just be opening the door to future success and happiness.
Two: Discipline is a worthy, powerful daily pursuit… and yet also it’s necessary to consciously prioritise the energy giving activities that rejuvenate you rather than just muscling through via all the effective habits and high standards you relentlessly hold yourself to.
In short: more time for walks in nature, friends, family – perhaps simply more UN-scheduled time is not lazy, it’s necessary and it’ll very likely allow you to be more effectively and creatively “ON” in the times you need to be ON!
Three: The fine line to negotiate between a moment to moment gratitude for everything you have right now AND a passionate, uncompromising focus on the vision you are working toward – is a fine line that moves! There’s not a predictable right or wrong or even a place to settle.
In fact it’s a constant evolution and self awareness that WOW, takes work!
Ok, I am going to keep this short. If you like these solo Plant Positive shows then please check out the abundance of solo shows I’ve published across at the Healthification Podcast. I’m up to E718 and although interviews with amazing athletes, activists, authors and genuinely passionate and compassionate individuals is my primary focus now, in the early days the shows were solo.
I’ll link to some of my most popular solo shows and also some of the most downloaded interviews below.
Alternatively, as hinted at I’m certainly up for season 2 of Plant Positive is there is demand. Please let me know via an iTunes review of by sharing the P+ love with someone dear to you.
Finally, HUGE thank you for your support and for hanging with me over this season of P+. It means a lot.
Across the pod waves sending you so much love and compassion plant friends.
