She is the co-creator of the Jazzy Vegetarian brand and author of seven vegan cookbooks. Laura is host of the three-time, TASTE award-winning television series, Jazzy Vegetarian, now in Season Ten.
Laura’s mission is: Making the world a better place, one recipe at a time, by creating and sharing modern, mindful, and compassionate vegan recipes that are easy and delicious!
Dishes so tempting you’ll even win over the ‘meat and potatoes’ crowd!
In fact, in this discussion Laura and I dig in with, how to share friction free meals with loved ones who are not vegan.
I absolutely LOVED this conversation. Laura is warm, generous and full of wisdom. I’m feeling motivated to share both her delicious recipes and also the compassion and consideration she puts into them with my non-vegan loved ones.
With her love for delicious vegan food, compassion for animals, and enthusiasm for great music, Laura is truly the Jazzy Vegetarian! In fact, vegan friends, you’ll be happy to hear of course the Jazzy Vegetarian is vegan – we do touch on that branding decision.
Please enjoy this conversation, about Making The World a Better Place, One Delicious Vegan Recipe at a Time with Laura Theodore, the Jazzy Vegetarian.
In this conversation we cover:
- What inspired Laura to adopt a vegan lifestyle?
- Laura has recently released the Tenth Anniversary Edition of her cookbook, Jazzy Vegetarian. Is there anything she’s changed her mind on regarding lively vegan cuisine that’s easy and delicious in that decade?
- Some of the Jazzy Vegetarian’s many delicious vegan recipe kitchen shortcuts.
- Laura learnt much about cooking from her mother and other family members. Many of her creations are based on their traditional recipes, some of them passed down for generations. What are a couple of her favs and how did she veganise them?
- Tips for sharing a friction free celebration meal with loved ones who are not vegan.
What a great story teller and true professional, right?
I could picture the hand written recipes handed down from Laura’s grandmother and mother. I could feel the excitement, as a young child anticipating a table laden with all your favourite foods made with an abundance of love.
My learning, is that we have such an opportunity to turn meals shared with non-vegan loved ones into a celebration rather than a conflict. That tradition can stay tied to the past while also evolving to include kinder choices. It might take extra effort and care on our part, however the likelihood that effort will be well worth it is high.
