Sexy Fit Vegan® founder Ella Magers has been an ethical vegan for 25 years.
Her passion for veganism and fitness led the way for her to win first place in the bikini division at the FAME Fitness World Championships. A published author and speaker rockin’ an impressively fit, plant-strong body – you might think the road has been smooth sailing and that perhaps Ella is one of those lucky food hating, exercise loving, genetically gifted types?
As we discuss today in this fun, open and genuine conversation Ella didn’t get it right from the start, so far as a healthy relationship with food and her body and in fact struggled with disordered eating.
After healing herself and earning a Master’s Degree in Social Work to further her coaching skills Ella developed the Plant-Empowered Coaching Program to help people align their actions with their values, develop a healthy relationship with food and their bodies, and create a joyful and meaningful vegan life they love.
I can relate to so much of what Ella shares and have a lot of gratitude for her warm and supportive vibes and all the actionable and sustainable goodness she puts out into the world.

Isn’t it true that although online and gosh even face to face we might waste enormous amount of time, energy and JOY trying to present our perfect selves (both physically and emotionally) it’s actually other peoples imperfections, their struggles and openness that encourages us to feel close to and relate to them?
“Perfect” creates walls. And of course perfect is imaginary and fake anyway.
And yet equally, I know a couple of decades + ago when I was intent on transforming my body I did take great inspiration from pouring over magazines full of fitness models. I found them motivating more then intimidating.
I guess it’s a fine and ever evolving line to walk between inspirational and real. I think Ella negotiates that fine line pretty fabulously.
