Plant friends, I can think of no better way to welcome 2025 than by spending time with Dr Will Tuttle and discussing how we can create more health and harmony for all.
Dr Tuttle’s latest book, The World Peace Way: Six Keys to Health and Harmony for All, is a practical companion guide to both The World Peace Diet and to Food for Freedom.
I first spoke with Dr Tuttle back in E721 and genuinely count his first book The World Peace Diet as the most impactful heart and mind-opening book I have read.
This conversation was a true joy. We discuss the six keys: Diet | Meditation | Relationships | Movement | Natural living | Creative expression and how we might incorporate them into our lives to, “more fully embody and exemplify the freedom, vitality, and joy that we would like to see gracing all living beings.”
Beyond that, the stories and deep insights Dr. Tuttle shares kept me entranced as yet again I felt – as I did in reading the World Peace Diet – how all the pieces just fit together to create that world of love, compassion and oneness that I am so passionately seeking.
If you feel despondent that we are trapped in a vicious cycle of sowing pain and suffering and then, reaping pain, suffering, sickness, anxiety and fear… it does not have to be that way.
The Why, as discussed in Dr Tuttle’s earlier books might seem overwhelming. There is so much wrong. So much bad. The compounding detrimental impacts of how we exploit the planet and all those we share her with might feel like a hopeless battle.
And yet, if you believe in doing what it right – not what is easy, or what everyone else is doing – then you can take one step at a time in a new direction of love, compassion and co-operation with the world, rather than fighting a mutually destructive, losing battle to control it.
- “A pain in the body is a pain in the mind.” Dr Tuttle speaks to his personal experience of this at 25 years old on solo meditation retreat.
- In The World Peace Way, Dr Tuttle shifts the focus from understanding the “Why” to the actionable “How” – where does he think more people are stuck, the Why or the How?
- For the individual new to Dr Tuttle’s work, what is our true nature?
- The Practice of Reconnecting with Nature. How might we incorporate this into life in 2025?
- We are, “being bombarded from infancy with toxic food, media, drugs, and narratives promoting competition, separateness, and busyness” and meditation is a powerful tool to quiet this noise.
- Relationships and Overcoming Social Barriers. What strategies does Dr. Tuttle recommend for individuals seeking to build harmonious relationships in environments where societal norms may not align with the principles outlined in The World Peace Way?
- Encouraging Creative Expression. Musical creativity has brought many gifts, but the most precious gift music has bequeathed Dr. Tuttle is his beloved spouse, Madeleine.
- Advice to someone who feels disconnected from their creative side but wishes to explore it as a path to personal and global well-being?
I could have spoken to Dr. Tuttle for hours. To continue with the positives and the hope, something we did not have time for was, vibratory frequency.
In The World Peace Way, Dr. Tuttle shares: When we raise our vibratory frequency to higher levels, especially regarding our thoughts and feelings, we naturally find that we begin to resonate with higher frequency phenomena in our environment, and are naturally drawn to beauty, harmony, loving thoughts and actions, healthy foods, and uplifting relationships and living spaces.
I find that so powerful. I have also lived it this past year. Your thoughts and energy will be matched. Not always be the person you are interacting with in that moment – though often they will – so it’s our choice whether we want judgement, hostility and competition reflected back at us or whether we’d like to open our hearts and minds to give and receive more love and connection.
I’ll leave you with the notion of radiating love and peace as Dr Tuttle suggested. Can you even imagine the world we would exist in if that was the approach we all took?
