Plant friends, the science internationally recognised nutrition and fitness coach Cyrus Khambatta shares in todays conversation could seem a little confusing. And yet, well you know I’m not the science’y girl right? And also, Cyrus makes it straight forward and inclusive.
Cyrus Khambatta, PhD earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University in 2003, then prompted by his own type 1 Diabetes diagnosis earned a PhD in Nutritional Biochemistry from the University of California at Berkeley.
He is the co-author of many peer-reviewed scientific publications, co-founder of Mastering Diabetes and co-creator of the Mastering Diabetes Method to reverse insulin resistance in all forms of diabetes. Cyrus has helped more than 10,000 people improve their metabolic health using low-fat, plant-based, whole-food nutrition, intermittent fasting, and exercise.
He is co-author of the best selling book Mastering Diabetes with Robby Barbaro, MPH.

I loved that chat and also plant friends, I’m very conscious we referred to testing on animals – repeatedly – and I didn’t want to distract from the vital information Cyrus was sharing.
I trust it should go without saying that I’m strongly opposed to any form of animal testing. The cruelty and exploitation can and should be completely avoided by simply transitioning to non-animal testing methods as covered extensively in my conversation with the amazing Theodora Capaldo in E622 where we discuss, Why Non-animal Testing Methods Are Superior On All Fronts.

A final thought that springs to mind as I publish this first new episode of 2022. This year, for both the effectiveness of my own animal rights activism and also for my own mental health it is my intention to focus more – to focus predominately – on what we have in common.
On the good in people. On our shared loves, goals, desires and values.
We’ll see how I go with that, I have much room for improvement however I am committed and on the matter of things in common, yet again this conversation highlights the surely indisputable truth that a whole plant based lifestyle has only positive impacts on ALL health outcomes while also drastically benefiting our environment and ALL those with share it with.
