On May 19th, 2016, Vegan Mountaineer Kuntal Joisher stood on the summit of Mt. Everest and accomplished his dream.
Although as you will soon hear, guilt would follow. Because as passionate as Kuntal is about the mountains, he is at least as committed to speaking out for the animals, as an ethical vegan.
Back in 2016, vegan food was the easy part of summiting Everest. The part that was overlooked in the extensive coverage of “The First Vegan To Climb Everest” was that Kuntal had been wearing a down climbing suit.
There were no other options. So began the lengthly search for and development of a genuinely vegan climbing suit.
Kuntal is a skilled story teller, and he shares his insights with such intense passion. Veganism was for him a gateway to greater empathy, and (thankfully!) he will never stop speaking about it.
