My guest in this encore episode, acclaimed Financial Times journalist Henry Mance certainly did his research before deciding as an animal lover, he really needed to be vegan.
This included a job at a slaughter house and at a pig farm.
Henry learnt: “Everything I love about animals – their adaptations to the natural environment, their otherness to the human world, their speed and elegance – is curtailed or wiped out on modern farms”
He shares: The truth is that the way we treat animals is not only irrational and unethical – it’s unsustainable.
I could not agree more. I love that Henry has aligned his actions with his values and brought his journalistic expertise to exploring our both our current broken, exploitative relationship with animals and the hopeful, compassionate relationship we could have.
A great start would be, telling our children the truth about our relationship with animals.
