At 34, Philip Wollen was Vice-President of Citibank. The Financial Press named him in the “Top 40 Brightest and Best” executives in Australia.
During his travels, by age 40 he’d witnessed cruelty so egregious he decided to do all he could to alleviate suffering, and give away everything he owned, with warm hands, and die broke.
Today, he is a “Venture Capitalist for Good Causes”, supporting some 500 mission-critical projects in 40+ countries.
Philip supports Children, Animals, and the Environment and he believes “Animal Rights is the World’s Greatest Social Justice Issue”.
As you will soon hear, Philip is an incredibly effective communicator and I am grateful for the decades he has invested spreading wisdom and compassion and his bold, uncompromising commitment to helping those in need whether they be human or non-human animals.
In this conversation we cover:
- When and why Philip became vegan.
- Why is a Vegan World so important?
- Is a vegan world possible?
- How do we break old traditions?
- Philip was attacked in the Press and Parliament for his Vegan Activism. How did he respond?
- Does Philip still have hope?
I loved hearing how combined the vegetarian and vegan population is huge and potentially so powerful. That’s a great reframe. We will however, only maximise our impact to create a vegan world if we can more effectively work together.
Not to relive history by carrying on needlessly cruel and destructive traditions. Rather to make history and to be on the right side of history.
To connect with Philip and the organisation he founded, Winsome Constance Kindness I will also have you linked up in the show notes below.
