Huge Happy New Year plant friends!
I am so excited to share this conversation wth you. My guest today is successful businesswoman, strategic consultant in the plant-based business arena and keen investor, Elysabeth Alfano.
As you will soon see Elysabeth is a passionate wealth of expertise and an incredibly effective communicator so far as everything we need to know about investing in a plant-based future.
Elysabeth speaks both to the opportunity for those of us already committed to a vegan lifestyle who are looking to invest in a way that is aligned with our values and ethics.
AND ALSO, I think of even more vital importance, she shares all the compelling facts that those who are not yet concerned with the animals or the environment need to hear.
If someone is motivated purely by financial incentives then investing in a plant-based future also makes sense.
As Elysabeth and I discuss, It is better for the bottom line when you do not waste resources like land and water and expose yourself to the risks of alienating increasingly conscious and compassionate consumers.
Whatever gets us closer to a vegan world, right?
For a little official Bio: A graduate of Northwestern University and the Thunderbird School of Global Management, Elysabeth began her career working with Fortune 500 companies (IBM-Europe and The Kellogg Company in Brand Management on Special K and Frosted Mini-Wheats) before running her own international business.
Elysabeth is the Founder of Plant Powered Consulting and enjoys helping small, medium and large businesses succeed by consulting on and executing business development, marketing/branding and PR strategies and by connecting entrepreneurs and C-Suite executives with her vast network. She also advises multinational companies on the direction, growth and white space opportunities in the marketplace.
Elysabeth speaks on the latest plant-based business and investment developments, analysis, and trends around the world and on major media outlets. She also speaks on issues of a shifting global food supply system, as she did recently at the U.N. Global Compact Leaders Summit, and what it represents for sustainability, climate change, food insecurity, human health, animal welfare and a growing global population.
Elysabeth is also the Co-Founder of VegTech (TM): The Global Vegan Impact and Innovation Index.
This conversation could have gone for 10 hours! I found it utterly fascinating. I hope you do too! Please enjoy, Elysabeth Alfano and Investing in a Healthy, Sustainable, Profitable Plant-Based Future.
In this conversation we discuss:
- Elysabeth had a distaste for eating meat as a child yet the certainly to follow that gut feeling and communicate why effectively did not come until much later!
- How investing in a plant based future was previously and is now currently being received by the stock market.
- Why investing with your values is good for individuals as well as the planet.
- EATV – The VegTech™ Plant-based Innovation & Climate ETF (exchange traded funds) designed to offer investors exposure to the growing plant-based foods and materials sector.
- The lack of innovation in animal agriculture verses the high innovation in plant-based agriculture.
- Does Elysabeth see a time when business’s pay for the environmental costs they are creating?
- The urgent need to produce more nutritious food using fewer resources and causing less harm.
- It’s better for the bottom line when you do not waste resources like land and water and expose yourself to the risks of alienating increasingly conscious and compassionate consumers.
If like me, you want to spend more time with Elysabeth I recommend her weekly series The Plantbased Business Hour.
On PBH, Elysabeth features the venture capitalists, CEOs, analysts, innovators and entrepreneurial start-ups from around the globe who are shaping the plant-based market.
