It’s an absolute honour to have Dr. Neal Barnard return to the podcast today.
In 1985, Dr. Barnard founded the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM), and for nearly four decades, this groundbreaking organisation has been championing a healthier, more compassionate world for animals, people, and the planet.
PCRM promotes preventative medicine, conducts clinical research, and advocates for higher ethical standards in research.
Today’s conversation covers potent weight loss principles from Dr. Barnard’s latest book, The Power Foods Diet. We also delve into some of PCRM’s recent victories and discuss peer-reviewed studies that powerfully illustrate the health benefits of a low-fat vegan diet.
Dr. Barnard’s research, combined with his calm while uncompromising and persuasive yet professional manner give me hope for the world we might still be able to create.
A compassionate, healthy, vegan world where nutrition education becomes a cornerstone of medical training, empowering patients to take charge of their health.
To briefly touch on Dr. Barnard’s extensive bio: he is a physician, clinical researcher, and author, as well as a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and an adjunct associate professor of medicine at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences.

I imagine you are not new to Dr. Barnard, he is of course a leader in the vegan and plant-based movement.
He is also someone I turn to when I feel overwhelmed by the flood of health misinformation clouding the simple truth: there is one diet that benefits humans, the planet, and, most importantly, the animals.
If you have not heard my first conversation with Dr Barnard I will link to, E669: Optimising Hormonal Health with Simple Diet Changes in the show notes.
We’re not disappointed or frustrated. What we are here is Determined. So if there's progress that remains to be made, we continue to go after it... people are kind of hooked on bad diets. So our work is not yet done. @DrNealBarnard Share on XPurchase, The Power Foods Diet:
