Chris Miller was an emergency physician in a busy emergency department, when inflammation began to take over her body.
Although she continued to work crazy hours in the ED initially, as her symptoms worsened and her doctors wanted to add more medications, Chris decided to make some major life changes.
Rapidly transitioning to a whole food, plant-based diet and eliminating all processed foods was the start, however it was not the entire solution.
This is a conversation about, hope and persistence.
Chris’s journey to heal from systemic lupus would take so much longer than many of the success stories you (and she) has read online. The learnings, about everything beyond the food – such as stress reduction, the right amount of exercise and the need for community – are invaluable today, as Chris individualises approaches for the patients she now works with in integrative and lifestyle telemedicine.
To touch on Chris’s clinical expertise: Dr. Miller specializes in autoimmune diseases, chronic inflammation, optimization of overall health, lipids, cardiovascular disease, metabolic disorders, and gut health. She is very passionate about microbiome research and everything autoimmune and inflammation related.
As you will soon hear her passion for helping others heal is impressive. Chris believes that the body can heal itself with the proper tools, and that starts with an approach that minimises fear and anxiety to instead focus around love and fun.
