Clean Food, Dirty Girl co-founder Molly Patrick brings a refreshing energy, honesty, and practical wisdom to the plant-based world. Her commitment to helping people eat more plants—while celebrating human imperfection—feels both real and deeply needed.
Molly’s fascinatingly unconventional upbringing laid the foundation for the whole food, plant-based lifestyle she lives today. In our conversation, we explore navigating the discomfort of change and the art of “embracing the suck”—a lesson she learned when she quit drinking and smoking.
We talk about how to stop “starting over” and keep moving forward imperfectly, how to replace judgment with curiosity, and how to meet ourselves exactly where we are without losing momentum or self-respect.
This episode is for anyone who wants to cultivate a life with intention and heart, embrace imperfection, and see challenges not as failures, rather as guidance for growth.

Give yourself more time than you think you’ll need
What stays with me from this conversation is the freedom in letting go of judgment—of ourselves, our habits, and even our food. When we stop labelling things as ‘good’ or ‘bad,’ we give ourselves permission to really feel life and our emotions, without trying to numb, fix, or escape them—whether it’s sitting in your own ‘suck chair,’ spending time in nature, or journaling your thoughts and heart.
It also reminded me of a quiet, powerful truth: slow is sustainable. Giving yourself more time than you think you need—doubling your timeline, even—reduces pressure, allows mistakes, and creates space for habits that actually stick. Doing things that support your health and well-being long-term builds self-trust in a way quick fixes never can.
